A Senior Session That Felt Like Home | Peyton's Crete High School Senior Session

The best senior sessions aren't about finding the most popular location.

They're about finding a place that tells your story.

For Peyton, that place was easy to find - it was home.

As a senior at Crete High School, Peyton wanted his session to reflect the life he knows and loves. Instead of traveling to multiple locations, we spent the evening exploring his family's property, capturing images in the cornfield, on the tractor, and even at a nearby bridge. Every stop had meaning, making the entire session feel personal and authentic.

One of the things I appreciated most about Peyton's session was how involved he was in planning it. He came with several ideas for photos, and I always encourage seniors to do the same. Whether it's a meaningful location, a favorite outfit, or a pose you've saved for inspiration, those personal touches help create a gallery that truly reflects who you are.

Throughout the evening, Peyton's quiet, easygoing personality made the session relaxed and enjoyable. There was never a need to force smiles or overthink the moment. Instead, we simply worked our way through each location, allowing his confidence to grow naturally as the session unfolded.

With four different outfits - including casual looks and clothing that complemented his surroundings - we were able to create a gallery with plenty of variety while keeping the focus on what mattered most: telling his story.

As a football and baseball player, Peyton certainly could have built his entire session around athletics. Instead, he chose to highlight the place that's been part of his everyday life. I love that decision because years from now, these photographs won't just remind him of his senior year - they'll remind him of home.
